Happy Chinese New Year

Happy New Year everyone,Kung Hei Fat Choi, and Happy Valentine’s Day.  It is such a wonderful day today that we went out with the family after lunch.

We went to VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.  Even though officially it is not Spring yet, we feel Spring is already here in Vancouver.

Doesn’t this look really lively? I don’t think Winter looks remotely like this.

The moss on the tree trunk really reminds me of the art work of Miyazaki.

It is not only on the tree trunk, it grows all the way to the tips of the branches. That is some amazing life power!

Think this is some kind of Winter berry?! I didn’t try any and I don’t think the personnel at the Park would appreciate me munching off a tree :P

Here are some flowers that somehow didn’t fall off from the Winter weather.  This year we have been having a very mild Winter.  Not that I am complaining, but it must cause some extra headaches for the Olympic Games organizers.

Even bees are out again at this time of the year.  It is absolutely amazing when we have sunshine instead of rain during Winter.

These flowers are all welcoming Spring’s arrival.

It was so warm that I was reminded of the sunshine in the Summer time. Oh sunshine, I miss you.

The park was amazingly quiet today. I was expecting a lot more people but I guess a lot of them are attending Olympic related activities. I wasn’t going to take my family to line up and get into the crowds.  This is totally perfect for a relaxing Spring-like Winter afternoon.

What did you do with your family today?  Hope you all had a wonderful day!
