Canon T2i
Ok, it is official. Canon is releasing the EOS 550D/Rebel T2i/Kiss X4 Digital. More information from dpreview.com.

I have the T1i, and comparing to the specs of the T2i, here is what I think are the main advancements:
- 18 mega pixel sensor (depends on noise level, it could be a disadvantage also) vs 15 mega pixel
- 1080p 30fps movie vs 1080p 20fps movie
- 63 TTL metering zones vs 35 TTL metering zones
- +/- 5.0 EV compensation vs +/- 2.0 EV
I am not going to repeat the rest but you get the idea.
For those who held out and not getting a T1i last year (yes it is not even a year old yet), the biggest win for you is that the price did not increase! When the T1i was announced in March 2009, the body itself was introduced at US$799. T2i body will be offered at exactly the price. So since you resisted the temptation, you are rewarded by better hardware without having to pay a penny more :)
Personally, I will wait for the T3i. If the trend of accelerating pushing products to the market repeats, T3i will be available before the end of the year! Right, Canon? ^^/
Here is a video of the product introduction on youtube, takes 3:39 to fill you in:
And if you are bored of the technical mumbo jumbo, you can see a movie made by the camera instead (offered by Canon Europe):
Some of the landscape shots are pretty spectacular.
Will you get a T2i? What do you think of the new features?
This would definitely make sense to come out right after I bought the T1i
I often have that kind of luck too.
