Another lens I often like to use is the Canon EF 70-200mm F4 L. Like most photographers, I started collect lenses with a limited budget and that is why I didn’t get the fancy F2.8 IS version of this lens. But nonetheless, this low budget version of the lens has been great for a lot of different outdoor photography. I find the contrast very vivid and the sharpness is excellent. I was out in Steveston again and got the opportunity to take these shots of Canadian geese. I bet they are migrating as the weather in Vancouver is cooling down.

Apart from the great zoom range and the awesome contrast and sharpness, light weight is another great plus.  Compared to the F2.8 IS, it is only half the weight, which makes carrying around a lot easier.  However, if you were to consider the EF 70-200mm series of lenses, I would recommend getting the IS version at least.  Having a great zoom range also means steadiness is required and IS would definitely help in taking action shots.
