Do you like donuts? Do you like Mini Donuts? If you do, the Outpost Mini Donuts in Steveston might be worthwhile for you to check it out.
Here are some photos of snow geese landing. They were taken on the same day as the photos posted in the previous snow geese blog post.
Can’t believe it has been a year already. Every year, snow geese migrate through Richmond and it is a good reminder for me that the year is coming to an end soon. This year I have taken more photos of these birds and share them with you here. In case you missed it, here are a couple of similar posts from 2010 and 2009.
Halloween is finally here. We were at Steveston Village looking for scary looking things.
We are getting so close to Halloween and I can’t help to post some pumpkin photos. We are lucky that we have lots of pumpkin patches around our neighbourhood and it is always fun to visit them when they open only for the month of October.
Have you tried horseback riding before? I have a couple of friends who used to ride horses but I never got a chance to see them on their ponies when they had them. One day I accidentally ran into this equestrian school and thought I would check it out. It happened to be their open house on that day. I know very little about horseback riding. Instead of pretending to know what is going on, I just have photos to show you….
I have taken some night shots to compare the noise level of these three cameras that I own: Sony Alpha NEX-5N, Canon T1i and Panasonic Lumix GF2. The Sony and Panasonic cameras are both mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, the Canon is a DSLR. In terms of price point when introduced to market with a kit lens, the Canon is the most expensive of the three, the Panasonic is the cheapest.
All these cameras have different sensor sensitivity. The most limiting of them is the Panasonic Lumix GF2 with a highest ISO 6400. The Canon T1i has the highest ISO at 12800 and Sony Alpha NEX-5N has the highest ISO at 25600. The above pictures are 100% crop at ISO 6400 for a fair comparison. The Sony Alpha NEX-5N compares very favourably to the Canon T1i, if not better. The Alpha NEX-5N, having the APS-C size sensor (same size as the DSLR) seems to have given it a big image quality advantage over the Lumix GF2.
Back at Rocanini Coffee Roasters for a second time, and this time we shared a siphon coffee. Siphon is a vacuum coffee maker, the mechanics of it is quite simple, but the coffee resulted from this method is supposed to be rich, pure, smooth and crisp.
