I have always wondered about the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary because it is at a relatively remote part of town but it is not too difficult for us to get to. Today we found some time and off we went.

It is remote enough that you don’t see any buildings or human habitat for miles. It is also pretty big and it took us about an hour and a half to walk around the perimeter, but not all the trails inside of the sanctuary. It was below freezing and we had to put on our thicker winter jacket to keep ourselves warm. Luckily it did not rain and that made a big difference to the little walk.

The location of George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary is in Delta, BC. It is close to the shore line and is not difficult to find.

It was a relatively quiet day, not a lot of people were out there at the bird sanctuary. That gave us lots of room to take photos.

Thanks Howie, I used mainly the Canon T1i for these shots except for a couple photos. Considering that the T1i is almost four years old, I am pretty happy with it’s performance :)
