Showa Kinen Koen
Showa Kinen Koen (昭和記念公園) is a place you must visit if you like parks and like to get out of the city a bit. It is a relatively large park about an hour away from Tokyo by train but it has a lot of space and it is a great place to relax and enjoy the afternoon while visiting Tokyo.
The two roles of ginkgo trees line the entrance of the park. Ginkgo tree is also the tree of Tokyo.
Autumn is definitely a great time to visit parks. So many colours :)
These ginkgo leaves are so lovely.
And there are millions of them on the trees!
There are lots of other trees and they are big lovely tress.
Other than trees, there is also a lake in the park.
Lots of red leaves around the lake.
This is the symbol of the park. This is a big tree!
See the two people walking by the tree, they were only a meter away from the tree. This tree is probably about 90 feet (or 27 meters) tall.
The sun set very fast in Autumn, we were leaving the park at around 4:30pm. If you were to visit this park, ensure you get there early so you don’t have to rush :)
And by chance, we saw the testing of the Christmas lights on the ginkgo trees on our way out.
Finally, we had to leave as it was getting too dark for good photos. It was fun visiting Showa Kinen Koen. Can’t wait to visit this park in a different season in the future.
