Happy Chinese New Year

We are lucky in Vancouver that there are a lot of Asian cultures.  And I can’t believe Chinese New Year is so early this year!! It will be on Feb 3rd.

We were at Aberdeen Centre Mall today and saw a lot of sidewalk merchants having tables and tables of goodies for sale. I particularly like this table as they sell all sorts of auspicious decorations for Chinese New Year.  It is definitely very festive and reminded me of how much I miss the Chinese New Year Festivity in Asia :)

With gold this cheap, even I can afford to get a pocket full of golden nuggets :D

Not to mention that there are festive snacks that you can get, like this table selling the hand made “Dragon Beard” candy. This table draws a big crowd, too!

If you are into Chinese New Year countdown, you can join the crowd on Feb 2 at Aberdeen Centre to welcome the Year of the Rabbit!

Looks like Vancouver’s Chinese New Year has lots more things going on than here in San Francisco. Enjoy and wish you in advance a happy and prosperous new year.
