Heading to Kyoto

After spending a couple of days in Osaka, we decided to take a trip to Kyoto. Kyoto is only about 20 minutes on Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka station. That makes it only about 50 minutes door to door from our hotel.

Otaroad

Otaroad (オタロード) is Osaka’s version of Akiba. There you will find tonnes of toys, games, anime and manga related merchandise. There are lots of shops that sell a great collection of otaku related goods and if you are into Japanese anime and manga, you are in for a treat.

Doguyasuji at Night

Another great place to visit while in Osaka is Doguyasuji. It is famous for its shopping streets. We were roaming in the area and took some night time photos in the neighbourhood.

Dōtonbori at Night

Dōtonbori is full of festivity even after sunset. When the sun goes down, the lights around Dōtonbori turn on and they give it a very different feeling than when it was during daytime.

One of a Kind Vancouver 2011

We went to One of a Kind Show and Sale Vancouver event on the weekend. It was great to see unique products being showcased by the creators and artists from all over North America. Here are some photos that were taken during the event.

Hozen-ji

If you are in the Dōtonbori area, you can also visit Hozen-ji. It is an interesting temple right in between Dōtonbori and Namba.
