After getting back to Tokyo, we are off to meeting some friends in Ikebukuro. In the past couple of trips, we visited Ikebukuro a lot because we love to shop there.  This time, we are here to see friends and meet new people and it was just great coming back here for a brief visit.

So what if you want to make okonomiyaki? Here at Milky Way in Osaka, we got the chef to illustrate how to make okonomiyaki for us. Firstly, we have the Hiroshima style, also known as hiroshimayaki. Then we have the Negiyaki (okonomiyaki with spring onions).  Both are very delicious and easy to make… my wife can attest :P

We managed to visit Kinkaku-ji during out brief visit in Kyoto. We were a bit exhausted from the amount of tourists around us at Kinkaku-ji that we decided to head back to Osaka earlier.  At this time of the year, the sun sets rather early and I just feel that it wasn’t going to be easy to navigate on buses at night.

After spending a couple of days in Osaka, we decided to take a trip to Kyoto. Kyoto is only about 20 minutes on Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka station. That makes it only about 50 minutes door to door from our hotel.

Otaroad (オタロード) is Osaka’s version of Akiba. There you will find tones of toys, games, anime and manga related merchandise. There are lots of shops that sell great collection of otaku related goods and if you are into Japanese anime and manga, you are in for a treat.
