Showa Kinen Koen (昭和記念公園) is a place you must visit if you like parks and like to get out of the city a bit. It is a relatively large park about an hour away from Tokyo by train but it has a lot of space and it is a great place to relax and enjoy the afternoon while visiting Tokyo.
2012, what a great start. May the power and focus be with you to complete all your personal goals, resolutions, wishes or simply silly dreams that are seemingly impossible. The trick is to aim higher than you originally planned and see how far you can push forward to make a significant difference to your lives and those around you.

Tokyo has a lot of gardens and parks, and most of them are nice and big with lots to see. For example, Shinjuku Gyoen is a place we are lucky enough to enjoy for the second time, once in the Spring back in 2007 and another time during this trip during in fall. It was nice to see how this park changes in colour in different seasons and I really enjoyed seeing the red leaves in this park.
After getting back to Tokyo, we are off to meeting some friends in Ikebukuro. In the past couple of trips, we visited Ikebukuro a lot because we love to shop there. This time, we are here to see friends and meet new people and it was just great coming back here for a brief visit.
After spending a few days outside of Tokyo, it was time to pack up and return. Our trip to Tokyo was spectacular!

So what if you want to make okonomiyaki? Here at Milky Way in Osaka, we got the chef to illustrate how to make okonomiyaki for us. Firstly, we have the Hiroshima style, also known as hiroshimayaki. Then we have the Negiyaki (okonomiyaki with spring onions). Both are very delicious and easy to make… my wife can attest :P
We managed to visit Kinkaku-ji during out brief visit in Kyoto. We were a bit exhausted from the amount of tourists around us at Kinkaku-ji that we decided to head back to Osaka earlier. At this time of the year, the sun sets rather early and I just feel that it wasn’t going to be easy to navigate on buses at night.
