New Year, New Blog Theme!

I have been using Elegant Grunge for a little more than a year and it is about time to update the look and feel of my personal blog. Been looking around a bit and came across this WordPress theme called Platform by PageLines.

I am currently using the free version of the theme. It is quite versatile and I like the various settings that actually work, as opposed to some of the other free themes I tried before with features that are somewhat lacking.

The free version of Platform is pretty simple to setup. It allows you to try how easy it is to switch different layouts for the different parts of your site. For example, you can control when the By-line, the Excerpt, the Full Post Content are displayed.

If you like to use the professional features, like drag-n-drop layout design, you will have to shell out $95 for it. I don’t think it is excessive if you use if day-in-day-out. It is, after all, the public facing part of your blog and having a professional theme does make it a lot easier for your audience to consume your information.
