Summer is ending soon. After Labour Day (first Monday in September), school will go back to normal schedule and it seems another 10 months of hard work starts all over again in the work force. Summer always seem to give everyone a little break. However Summer is selfishly short here in Vancouver. The most enjoyable time in the year in my opinion is July and August. It is when the weather is usually the mildest, with the longest day light and has the least amount of rain.
Took a bit of a blogging vacation for a month and now finally got time to catch up. It was in July when a friend from work invited me out on his boat to cruise to English Bay.
With Autumn just around the corner (roughly another week), let’s review some of our favorite Japanese food we had this summer :) Most of these photos are taken by my wife who is resistant to strange stares from other restaurant patrons.
It has been a while since I visited the University of British Columbia. I attended my classes there many many moons ago and now going there for a leisure walk has a totally different feeling. Especially during the summer break where there is hardly anyone around, it feels a bit deserted but feels like the campus is very calming. Hope you enjoy these photos taken during the Anime Evolution 2010.

Wiimote Girl
Once again we are approaching the end of the summer. What better way to celebrate than to be surrounded by awesome cosplayers? This year’s Anime Evolution is held at UBC. I haven’t taken photos for a little bit and was feeling a bit rusty with my photo equipment. Some photos didn’t turn out and I apologize to those who posed for me and not seeing their photos posted here. And if you are the cosplayer and would like to get the high-resolution photo, please feel free to contact me by leaving me a comment below.
Updated: photo captions curtesy of Lightning Sabre. Lightning Sabre also posted a Anime Evolution 2010 Cosplay page with lots of cosplayer photos I don’t have. Thanks Lightning Sabre!!
It is difficult to believe we have maybe less than half of our summer left. It started sort of early, then cooled down for a couple of weeks. And then the heat came back for real.
Sharing some of the photos I took in the past month or so here. Hope you like them.
Here are some photos of wild flowers taken last weekend. I thought the photos would be totally shorty from the sun blasting right above us but they kind of turned out okay….
We went to Steveston today to get some sun. The weather cooperated and it was a lovely day.
