Mac mini 2010

As mentioned before how much I am looking forward to the new Mac mini, so here it is. Got my hands on a Mac mini earlier and I have been extremely happy with it.  It is so simple, yet so easy to use. I am consolidating my anime storage and anime download into this energy efficient aluminum enclosure of goodness.

Apple Mac mini with HDMI

Apple today revealed the latest Mac mini with HDMI output. I have been waiting for this for a while and now the wait is over! It is sort of a quiet announcement. There is a small mentioning here. Maybe because it is the same day that you can start ordering the iPhone 4, this new product is a bit overshadowed by all other iPhone 4 pre-order craze news.

Nyko PS3 Charge Base 2

I have had the PS3 for a while now.  It is a great entertainment machine for gaming and also for movie watching.  With BD remaining as the HD media standard (feel sorry for the HD-DVD standard), PS3 is a great value for what it can do.

Despite the nice exterior design and slick user interface, one of the few annoyances I have with the PS3 is recharging the controller.  Even though the PS3 is plugged in 24/7, you have to have the machine turned on and running before you can recharge the wireless controllers.  Of course you can recharge it during game play as well, but that is somewhat inconvenient as we have cats and they love biting wires.

WDTV Live

I used to think I have to save a whole bunch before I can have a networked media centre PC or Mac Mini solution in order for me to watch anime on my TV in the living room.  I had at one point considered the HP Media Centre solution but couldn’t really see myself buying another Windows machine that needs a lot of maintenance to keep it going.  I also thought about a Mac Mini but it has always been a bit too pricy for me when I add the wireless mouse and keyboard to the equation.  Well, thanks to the recent advancement of networkable media players in the market, I finally can enjoy my anime collection without having to sit in front of a computer.
