About myself
I set up this blog in an attempt to document some of the findings I picked up along the way in my daily adventures with some specific focii, and hopefully someone might find them useful.
My name is Kam Lau. I am a software consultant who is currently working for a software consulting company in Vancouver, Canada. I enjoy the challenge of solving problems with computers. I have a keen interest in technologies related to the web. I am currently working with the Microsoft stack of technologies including ASP.NET, SharePoint, SQL Server, IIS, .NET Framework to name a few. Although I have been working with the Microsoft stack of technologies for a while, I am also interested in other platforms like Mac and Linux and their applications on the web.
I am also a gadget lover. I really dig cool gadgets and although I don’t spend a lot of money on gadgets, they are part of what I read online and I love playing with them. Most recently acquired gadget is my Canon T1i DSLR body.
Talking about DSLR, I am also a photo enthusiast. I will try to share my photos on this blog with you.
Other than working and taking photos, I am currently learning Japanese and my vacation destination of choice is Japan. I have been to Tokyo a few times and I am sure I will venture outside of Tokyo the next time I visit Japan.
And if you don’t already know, I am a Gundam fan. Kind of like some of you who are Star Wars fans or Star Trek fans. I just happened to grow up with anime and I still love watching them, especially Gundam related anime and artifacts. The photo at the top of this page is the 1:1 size Gundam located at Odaiba in Tokyo in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam debuted in Japan in 1979.
