Showa Kinen Koen (昭和記念公園) is a place you must visit if you like parks and like to get out of the city a bit. It is a relatively large park about an hour away from Tokyo by train but it has a lot of space and it is a great place to relax and enjoy the afternoon while visiting Tokyo.

Tokyo has a lot of gardens and parks, and most of them are nice and big with lots to see. For example,  Shinjuku Gyoen is a place we are lucky enough to enjoy for the second time, once in the Spring back in 2007 and another time during this trip during in fall. It was nice to see how this park changes in colour in different seasons and I really enjoyed seeing the red leaves in this park.

After getting back to Tokyo, we are off to meeting some friends in Ikebukuro. In the past couple of trips, we visited Ikebukuro a lot because we love to shop there.  This time, we are here to see friends and meet new people and it was just great coming back here for a brief visit.

While we were in Tokyo, we spent some time with Mr. Danny Choo. It was nice to see him and his wife again.  Both me and my wife have been following Danny’s blog for a number of years. I started reading Danny’s blog when he still had time to make Gunplas. I remember at that time I was looking for PG Strike photos online and was totally impressed by the quality of content Danny posted on his blog.  It was great to have met him for the second time in the past few years and hope many more to come. Nearly forgot to post about the Green House at Kamo Iris Garden. This is a green house that has a traditional Japanese building appearance but has transparent roofs to let light through. It is quite something to see as there are so many plants inside.
