I can’t believe how long it has been since I posted about Gundam. I guess I have been spending more time watching Gundam anime than doing any other Gundam related activities. Since I have not made much progress with my last Gunpla project, there is nothing to report. However I am going to record at least what are the latest Gunpla purchases since the last time I posted about my Gunpla collection.
While I was away last week, my latest amiami purchase arrived. I was looking one night and realized that they had one MG Astray Red Frame in stock and I had to take the opportunity. And together with the MG Astray Red Frame, I also got a HG Gundam Exia Repair II. Total including shipping cost ¥6,370. To put things in perspective, the MG Astray Red Frame is listed for ¥5,000. Local stores here would be selling it at around C$70 to C$75 + taxes (C$78.4 to C$84). The HG Gundam Exia Repair II is listed for ¥1,200. Local stores here would be selling it at around C$14 to C$16 + taxes (C$15.68 to C$17.92). Conversely, ¥6,370 is about C$70. I am easily saving 25 to 30%.
My small shipment of two gunplas just arrived before the weekend. This is actually my first time ordering gundam model kits from Japan. I have always been a bit skeptical about how much I could save when they add shipping and handling but this time is different.
