HG Seravee Gundam – Part 1

Finally, after months, if not years of not making any Gundams, today I decided to spend some time getting reacquainted with my hobby. I decided to start with a High Grade kit as there are fewer pieces to work with and hopefully it will take less time. So here is my progress.

High Grade Kshatriya and High Grade Seravee Gundam GNHW/B

Suddenly, the Winter weather returned today. It was rainy and windy just like the usual Vancouver Winter weather would be. What is better for fighting off winter blue than to get myself some new Gunplas? Went to a local store in Richmond and got these two Gunplas and feeling pretty good after :) Retail therapy works I am telling you.

Small Gunpla Shipment Arrived

My small shipment of two gunplas just arrived before the weekend.  This is actually my first time ordering gundam model kits from Japan.  I have always been a bit skeptical about how much I could save when they add shipping and handling but this time is different.

MG Exia and Astray Blue Frame Gundams

This year I am again getting some Gundams for Christmas for myself.  As you probably know that I have a big appetite for almost anything master grade, it is only a matter of time before I break down and get more Gundams….

Gundam Collection

I love gundam models.  I am especially a little bit obsessed about Master Grade models.  I don’t have all of them, but I have a lot of them.

Gundam Collection by you.

To me they are the right size to model and have relatively good amount of detail and articulation.  I started watching Gundam when I was growing up.  Back in the early 80’s, when the original Mobile Suit Gundam was aired, I watched every single episode.  I used to get Gundam magazines, books, models and toys whenever I can save the money.  It was an addiction, and till today, it has a lot of influence on me.

Gundam Books

Just curious about what kind of Gundam artifacts you collect? I like collecting Gundam Model books. I collect them mainly because of the gunplas in them.

I like the Zeta Gundam series. Continue reading

Visiting Tokyo (Part 3)

I have been following news about the realsize 1:1 Gundam since it was mentioned in April.  At the time we didn’t know we were going to visit Tokyo so I didn’t have a lot of expectation of taking pictures of it.  The last time when they had Gundam Crisis in Fujiku Highland Park in 2007, I miss seeing it when we were in Tokyo.  This year, we just happened to have a trip to Tokyo when Gundam at Odaiba is being exhibited.  Actually the official opening is not until July and we were there in June.  It was a nice surprise that I got to see a fully standing Gundam and I really appreciate the results of excellent project management in Japan :)

If you are interested in reading about Gundam Crisis, please see Danny Choo’s coverage.

To get to Odaiba, we took the Yurikamome train from Shimbashi station. Continue reading
