Photo Walk 10 – Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver
More photos of Shangri-La, the tallest tower in Vancouver today. You maybe aware that Shangri-La is a Hong Kong based hotel group and Shangri-La Hotel in Vancouver is their first branch hotel in North America.
At the ground level of Shangri-La, you will find the famous Burberry Store and the specialty grocer, Urban Fare. There is also Market by Jean-Georges, an upscale restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, on the first floor.
Art display to the right of the front entrance on West Georgia Street.
First floor exterior space is made to be like a small garden.
Of course there is a fountain in this garden space with lots of trees and bamboos around.
Looks like the designer likes to use bamboo as the primary landscaping element. Are you feeling Zen yet?
There are also something that look like gallery rooms or meeting rooms to the west side of the hotel. Currently, there are posters of China youths posted on the columns.
There is lots of space around the gallery/meeting rooms area. It is quite comfortable to hang out there as there aren’t a lot of people discovering this place yet.
In case you are wondering what the posters are like, here is a composition of the different posters.
But I much prefer the bamboo and fountain area though.
